Big Doughski G outta Dallas, Texas with his new ’98 street video. This that real country ass Texas music that i grew up to and that i loved. Most of you have forgotten that THIS is the REAL Texas sound. The other day i asked Doughski how Mr. Pookie (a Dallas rapper that had the classic album “Tha Rippla” 10 years ago) was doin and if he was still in the game. I turn around and watch this video and notice that Mr. Pookie is IN the video. If i’m not mistaken the other homie is Mr. Lucci who used to roll with Pookie. Anyway, dope track, dope artist. Definitely look into Big Doughski G, Mr. Pookie and Mr. Lucci. They make that real southern rap that is almost non-existant these days.
If you wanna know what I mean about real southern rap and the kind of rap these guys make just listen to this track from Mr. Pookie called “Young Man”. Download it on itunes, this type of heartfelt music deserves support. This shit hits home everytime.

If ya don’t like the Bay Area because of their style of music then i wonder what you’re goin to say about Nio Tha Gift. Here’s his new video “6 PM” from his latest mixtape “Hero”. If you like it you should also take a listen to his album H.I.P.H.O.P. which is an acronym for “Here I Present A Hero Of Poverty”. The album is filled with these kinds of “intelligent” raps. I don’t really consider Nio Tha Gift a conscious rapper but his music is definitely more mindful than most. The video also introduces a new artist by the name of Hongry.
