I always loved music that came out of Louisiana, whether it was from New Orleans or Baton Rouge. It just has a realness that no other state came with. For the past few years the only good Louisiana artist I had came across was Lil Half Ounce. Today, i came across Kevin Gates out of Baton Rouge. Some of the realeast shit i’ve heard …. the beat, the lyrics, the voice, the realness, everything about it has that Louisiana pain and anger you can feel in you. That’s why I gave it a GSLAPS CERTIFICATION.
